And the sun shone....

For those of you who have been to many a sports day here, you will have seen what the British weather can offer us - we have even had to cancel it in the past. Today however the sun shone and so instead of wet weather planning, it was the opposite!

The Juniors were up first and their track events are competitive with ribbons for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. These are highly prized and worn with pride! The carousel of activities where the children were dribbling footballs, throwing beanbags, standing long jump and balancing. As this all came to a close it was time for the House relay race with Syon taking 1st place. The overall winners were Chiswick House and the children showed that there is still plenty of healthy house rivalry as they cheered for their teams. Then it was time for the parents race, as mums and dads showed off what they could do. The months training in the gym paid off!

After an all school picnic on the Back Common, it was the turn of the Infants. They compete in track and field events too with stickers for the winners. The obstacle race in particular is wonderful as the children tackle the various tasks with huge concentration whilst remembering to get to the finish line.

As the last  sports day at Belmont for Miss Coates (after 21 of them), we were all delighted that it was such a perfect day. Well done to the children for their impeccable behavior and sportsmanship, to the staff for their hard work in managing the day and the parents and carers for coming along to support.
