Rugby Megafest!

What a day! I'm not sure i can do justice to the Belmont team in writing about this event. The team of ten including Eva, Rose, Jemima, Hannah, Matty, Zack, Tom, Jack, Bertie and Olly travelled to Barn Elms to take part in the London Youth Games Rugby Megafest.  Twenty teams from across Greater London played various rugby related games across ten pitches. Of course in the tag rugby games Belmont won all of their games, but they also took part in Stuck in the Mud, Bulldog, Rob the Nest, Catch the Flag and Monsters and Minions!

They boys and girls were brilliant! they showed resilience, sportsmanship and most all had fun. They were willing to play for other teams that were short on numbers, shook hands at the end of very game and cheered for the opposition. They sang, danced and conga'd their way between games and without exception every referee, pitch marshall and organiser commented on how great a team they were. The main organiser was so impressed he presented each member of the team with an official England Rugby match ball in recognition of their enthusiastic spirit.

I have always enjoyed coaching these guys but yesterday I could not be more proud to be their coach and part of Belmont Primary school.

A big thanks to Michelle for being there with us, Lizzie for organising and to Jackie for getting us an invite to the event.
