 Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant


Grade: Scale 4

Hours: 16 hours x 39 weeks (mornings in term time + INSET days)

There may be a possibility of some afternoon hours but this is still to be finalised


Nature of Employment:  Fixed term contract


We have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant to support the needs of a particular child with an  Education Health Care Plan.  The role involves working specifically with this child in their mainstream class as well as providing programmes of support targeted to their individual learning needs. The successful candidate will also be required to work with small groups including SEN pupils as guided by the class teacher and Inclusion Leader. This job would suit a candidate interested in a rewarding job that fits in with school hours. 


Experience of working with children with special educational needs, either in a voluntary or paid capacity, is essential. It is also a requirement of the job that Teaching Assistants have sound literacy and numeracy skills and are ICT literate with the basic software applications. The ideal candidate will be flexible, creative and enthusiastic, a good communicator with a friendly disposition who enjoys working collaboratively within a team.
